Playa Blanca, located at the Southern point of Lanzarote is the newest and one of the three main tourist areas on the island. Awarded on various occasions for its beauty, this peaceful and pleasant spot is the ideal place for the whole family to relax in.
You will find all kinds of restaurants, bars and a great range of shops along the shopping street Calle Limones and also at Marina Rubicon, a beautiful marina dotted with restaurants, shops and bars.
The coastline around Playa Blanca is essentially one large 9 kilometre wide bay which is then broken up into three smaller, bays, ideal for swimming and sunbathing Among the beaches, Playa Dorada and Playa Flamingo stand out for their white sand and proximity to everything you need, however, without doubt, the beaches of Papagayo are breathtaking, with their fine white sandy coves.
A few minutes from Playa Blanca, you can find some of the most renowned sites on the island. Timanfaya National Park, La Geria, Janubio salt flats, El Golfo (the green lagoon), Los Hervideros or the charming village of Yaiza. You can also visit the village of Las Brenas, where you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of Playa Blanca with Fuerteventura Island in the distance.
From Playa Blanca you can ferry across to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura which takes 25 to 35 minutes, depending on which service you choose. The enormous beaches at Corralejo with their white sand dunes and crystalline waters make this trip worth the effort.
